Moss Plants As Ground Cover For Sunny Lawns

Most mosses thrive in shade or partial shade but our Bryum moss (also called Sun moss) grows well in sunny gardens.

This moss is often used between pavers or as an alternative for grass. We recommend a maximum of 8 sun hours. You can order sun moss as a milkshake or as moss plants.

Moss Plants As Groundcover For Shady Gardens

We offer two moss plants that can be used as ground cover for (partially) shaded lawns (max 4 hours of sunlight). Both are of the genus Hypnum and are known by their common names as ‘Sheet Moss’ and ‘Carpet Moss’.

These mosses can tolerate moderate foot traffic and are a popular alternative to traditional grass lawns.
