The live moss we sell is freshly harvested. It can stay healthy for 2 weeks, but it depends on how you use it. If you leave it out in full sun, it will dry out quickly, but if you leave it in the shade, with some airflow, and you mist it daily, you can keep it fresh for weeks before planting it.
No soil is needed. For short-term use (1–3 days), you can place the moss directly on the surface, and it doesn’t need watering. For longer events (3-14 days), you need to mist it daily. Don’t soak it, a light mist is sufficient. If the moss is out in full sun, it needs misting twice a day.
Yes, absolutely. We hope you do it. Some events do moss planting afterwards and give the moss back to Mother Nature. If you keep the moss moist, with enough shade and airflow, you’ll be able to reuse it.
