Preserved Moss

Preserved moss is real moss that has been treated so it keeps its color and softness. It needs no water, no soil and no light, which makes it the right choice anywhere living moss would fail: interiors without daylight, retail displays, event installations and craft work.

What we carry

Preserved Sheet Moss covers large flat areas and is the usual choice for panels and backdrops. Preserved Cushion Moss adds mounded texture. Preserved Rock Cap suits rockwork, models and dioramas. Reindeer Moss is the branching, springy lichen most often used in wall art and framed pieces.

We also carry untreated dried Spanish Moss and Deerfoot Moss, natural and undyed, for a more muted finish.

It is real moss, but no longer growing — preservation keeps it soft and colored without any care.

Can preserved moss be revived or planted?

No. Preservation is permanent. For living ground cover, choose live moss instead.

Can it go outdoors or in a bathroom?

No — direct sun and sustained moisture are the two things it cannot take. Dry interior spaces only.
